Frozen Hot Chocolate

Frozen Hot Chocolate

How to make Frozen Hot Chocolate Recipe - Inspired by the classic drink served at Serendipity in New York City. The key to this drink is making real homemade hot chocolate. It’s hard to duplicate that cooked, caramelized quality without actually making it from scratch. The other key to this recipe is to let the hot chocolate chill completely before blending it; otherwise it will melt the ice rapidly and you’ll be left with watered-down cold chocolate milk.

Ingredients:
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 ounce water
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1⁄2 ounces Godiva chocolate liqueur
3 mini marshmallows, for garnish
Gourmet chocolate pieces, for garnish (optional)

Method:
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk, sugar, water, cocoa powder, and vanilla. Stir constantly until it starts to boil. Place in the refrigerator until completely cooled.

Combine the cooled hot chocolate and chocolate liqueur in a blender with 4 ice cubes. Blend until smooth. (Add and blend in additional sugar, if needed.) Pour into a cocktail glass. Garnish with the mini marshmallows and chocolate pieces, if desired.

Method:
Combine the ice cream, crème de cacao, and light cream in a blender cup and blend for about 5 seconds. Add a few cubes of ice and blend until smooth. Then combine the sorbet, raspberry liqueur, and orange juice in another blender

cup and blend for about 5 seconds. Add a few cubes of ice and blend until smooth. Pour the contents from both cups at the same time into a tall glass such as a Hurricane glass. The two mixtures will blend together, but still be separate in the glass, for an interesting two-color look.
