Bourbon Apple Slush
Ingredients:
1 green apple, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 ounce water
2 teaspoons raw sugar (turbinado sugar)
Dash of ground cinnamon
Dash of ground nutmeg, plus extra for garnish
1⁄2 vanilla bean
1 1⁄2 ounces bourbon
Method:
In a sauté pan over medium heat, sauté the apples with the water, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla bean. Keep stirring until the apples have softened and caramelized, 5 to 7 minutes, adding more water if needed. Let cool.
Pour into a blender and blend for about 5 seconds. Add about a half cup of ice and the bourbon and blend until smooth. Pour into a cocktail glass and garnish with nutmeg.
