Applebee's Southwest Steak
SERVES 2
Ingredients:
4 shakes blackened-steak seasoning
2 beef steaks
Butter, as needed
1 cup julienne-cut yellow onions
½ cup julienne-cut red peppers
½ cup julienne-cut green peppers
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
Garlic powder, to taste
2 slices Cheddar cheese
2 slices Monterey jack cheese
Method:
Preheat the grill.
Add the steak seasoning to both sides of the steaks.
Grill steaks to desired doneness.
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the onion and peppers for 2–3 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic.
Reduce the heat and simmer until the steak is cooked.
For final minute of steak cooking, top each steak with 1 slice of Cheddar and 1 slice of Monterey jack.
Plate the steak with the onions and peppers.
