Applebee's Garlic Mashed Potatoes
SERVES 8
Ingredients:
4 whole cloves of garlic
2 pounds red potatoes
½ cup milk
¼ cup heavy cream
3 tablespoons butter
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Method:
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Place garlic cloves on a sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Wrap the garlic tightly and roast for approximately 45 minutes, or until soft. Unwrap the garlic and let it cool until touchable.
Wash and rinse the potatoes. It is not necessary to peel the potatoes, unless you desire.
Place the potatoes in a large pot and boil for 20 minutes. Remove them from the heat and drain them in a colander.
Peel the garlic cloves. Combine them with the potatoes and all other ingredients and mash with a potato masher.
