French toast
Serves 1
Lightly whisk together 2 eggs, and season with salt. Pour into a wide and shallow bowl, and place 2 slices of day-old white bread in the beaten egg mixture so that they are completely covered and soak up all the liquid.
Heat a nonstick frying pan over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of butter and, when hot, put the slices of bread in the pan. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden. Serve immediately.
