1 recipe Essential Fries, Drive-in Fries, or Oven Fries
1/2 stick unsalted butter
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup high quality cocoa
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
Method:
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and add the chocolate pieces, stirring frequently to melt. Once melted, whisk in the sugar and cocoa, followed by the cream. Continue to stir, bring to a boil, and remove from heat. Stir in the salt and vanilla. Serve warm as a dipping sauce for the prepared french fries.
