Old Fashioned Caramel Frosting
Ingredients:
1 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup whipping cream
1 to 1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method:
In a medium-sized saucepan, combine brown sugar and cream.
Stir and bring to a rolling boil. Boil 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. With a hand electric mixer, beat in powdered sugar and vanilla until mixture becomes thick and loses its sheen. Makes about 2-1/2 cups or enough for a 2-layer cake.
