Long John Silvers Beer Battered Fish

How to make Long John Silvers Beer Battered Fish Recipe -  The secret to the Long John Silver's taste is the batter they use to dip their fish, chicken, and shrimp into. This recipe is very easy since it uses a prepared mix. The best type of fish to use is cod, tilapia, or trout .

SERVES 2-4

Ingredients:
Vegetable oil, for frying
1 cup McCormick Golden Dipt Beer Batter for Seafood mix
2/3 cup beer
1½ pounds fish fillets

Method:
Pour oil into a deep fryer or large heavy skillet, filling no more than 1/3 full. Heat oil to 375°F.

In a medium bowl, stir batter mix and beer until smooth.

Cut fish into serving-size pieces.

Dip fish into batter and shake off any excess.

Carefully add the fish a few pieces at a time into the hot oil. Cook 3–5 minutes, turning once to brown evenly. The fish is done when it is golden brown and flakes easily with a fork.

Drain the fried fish on paper towels.
