Golden Corral Bread Pudding
SERVES 4–6
Ingredients:
Bread Pudding:
2 cups milk
½ cup butter
2 eggs
1/3 cup brown sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 cups cubed French bread
White Sauce:
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon flour
Dash of salt
Method:
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a saucepan over medium, heat the milk and butter together. Remove and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and add the brown sugar, salt and cinnamon. Let the milk cool for 30 minutes then add it to the egg mixture, making sure that the egg mixture does not curdle.
Add the bread cubes and stir carefully; do not beat.
Place the mixture in an 8" × 11" well-oiled pan and bake for about 40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Set aside.
Mix all the sauce ingredients together and bring to a boil in a pan for 3–4 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour about ½ the mixture on the warm bread pudding and place
the remainder of the sauce in a serving bowl for those who desire a little extra.
