Chip Chocolate Cookies
Makes about 72 cookies
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (8-ounce) semisweet chocolate bar or 1-1/2 cups semisweet
chocolate pieces
1 cup chopped nuts
Method:
Preheat oven to 400F (205C).
In a medium-sized bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Gradually stir in flour mixture; mix well. If using a chocolate bar, chip chocolate by holding bar on edge and slicing it down into 1/4-inch pieces. Stir chocolate pieces and nuts into dough.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies feel firm when touched. Cool on a rack.
