How to make classic martini cocktail recipe
makes 2
Ingredients:
glasses 2 chilled martini glasses
equipment mixing glass, strainer, cocktail sticks
ice cubes
1 measure dry vermouth
6 measures gin
stuffed green olives, to decorate
Put 10–12 ice cubes into a mixing glass.
Method:
Pour over the vermouth and gin and stir (never shake) vigorously and evenly without splashing. Strain into 2 chilled martini glasses, decorate each with a green olive and serve.
For a Smoky Martini, an interesting twist on the classic martini, to serve 1, put some ice cubes into a mixing glass, add ¼ measure dry vermouth and stir until the ice cubes are well coated. Pour in 2 measures of gin and 1 measure of sloe gin then add 5 drops of orange bitters. Stir well, then strain into a chilled cocktail glass and add an orange twist.
