Colonial Brown Bread Muffins

How to make Colonial Brown Bread Muffins Recipe - This batter can also be baked in a 9 inch by 5 inch loaf pan for 1 hour until it is done. Very quick and easy!

Makes 12 muffins

1 pint buttermilk (2 cups)
2 cups whole-wheat flour
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon pumpkin-pie spice
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup light or dark raisins

Preheat oven to 350F (175C).

Grease 12 large muffin cups or line with cupcake liners. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients until blended. Fill prepared muffin cups two-thirds

Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center of a muffin comes out clean.
