Fried Basil Leaves

Ingredients:
12–18 Basil leaves
as needed Vegetable oil, for deep-frying
Method:
Rinse and thoroughly dry the basil leaves.
Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the basil leaves for a few seconds, until they turn crisp and translucent. Remove them from oil and drain well. (This can be done up to 1 hour in advance.)
