How to make Green Tea Zer Smoothie Recipe - One of my favorite ways to enjoy antioxidant-rich yerba mate is blended into a smoothie. This tea of South American origin contains 90 percent more antioxidants than other green varieties, and though it does contain about 80 mg of caffeine per serving, its effects on the nervous system are slowed by its many other health properties. This smoothie is creamy and rich from the use of coconut milk. It is naturally sweetened with digestion enhancing yacon and plump dates, providing a flavor that is simply luscious.
Yield: approximately one 20-ounce (570 ml) smoothie
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups (355 ml) brewed and chilled yerba mate tea
1 teaspoon chlorella powder
1/2 cup (120 ml) coconut milk
3 pitted medjool dates
1 tablespoon (7 g) yacon syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method:
In a blender, combine all the ingredients.
Blend on high for 20 seconds or until smooth. Enjoy immediately and sip slowly.
