How to make pasta with meat sauce recipe - pâtes avec sauce à la viande recette
Serves 4
Ingredients:
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
8–10oz (300g) boneless sirloin beef (rump) steak, cut into bitesize chunks
1 beef bouillon cube, crumbled
2 cups hot water
8oz (225g) cold leftover cooked pasta, such as penne, farfalle, or fusilli
handful of grated Parmesan cheese
handful of flat-leaf parsley leaves, finely chopped
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
Method:
1 Heat the oil in a large frying over low heat. Add the onion and a pinch of salt, and cook gently for 5 minutes or until soft. Stir in the garlic, and cook for a few seconds more. Now add the beef and cook over high heat for a few minutes until browned all over. Sprinkle with the bouillon cube, pour in the water, and bring to a boil, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon. Reduce the heat slightly, and leave to simmer for 20 minutes.
