How to make Kiwifruit and Grape Rice Pudding Recipe - Originally from China, the kiwi was cultivated at the turn of the century in New Zealand and brought to California in the 1930s. Kiwis are grown all over the world on vines; however, California has the greatest kiwi production in the United States.
4 SERVINGS
Ingredients:
3 cups Milk
1/4 cup plus Granulated sugar
1 tablespoon
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup Rice
2 Kiwis, peeled, sliced, quartered
1/2cup Seedless red grapes, halved
1 tablespoon Unsalted butter
1/8 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
2 Kiwi, peeled, sliced, for garnish
Method:
Combine the milk, 1/4 cup (13/4 ounces, 46 g) sugar, and salt. Heat until small bubbles form around the edge of the pan.
Stir in the rice. Cover and cook over low heat for 35 to 45 minutes or until the rice is tender and most of the milk is absorbed. Stir occasionally.
Stir in the kiwi quarters, grapes, and butter.
Combine remaining sugar with the cinnamon. Sprinkle each serving with cinnamon sugar and garnish with sliced kiwi fruit. Serve warm.
