4 burger buns
Tomatoes, thinly sliced
Scallions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon margarine
300 grams tempeh, steamed and mashed
2 cloves garlic, mashed
½ teaspoon finely ground pepper
50 grams grated cheese
½ onion, finely chopped
5 tablespoons bread crumbs
Oil for frying
1. Burger: Mix onion, garlic, pepper, and salt, stirring until blended. Stir in grated cheese and bread crumbs. Mix well. Divide dough into 4 parts. Form into flat, round shapes.
2. Heat oil. Fry burgers over medium heat until cooked.
3. Heat margarine. Fry bread for a bit until it becomes golden-brown. Add ketchup, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, scallions, and tempeh burgers. Add second piece of bread. Serve warm.
